Trekking the Bushaho family of gorillas

A family of bushaho gorillas is ready to be trekked by tourists. There are multiple gorilla groups in the best-endowed Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The Bushaho gorilla family is located in the Nkuringo sector. There were only eight gorilla licenses issued in the Nkuringo region for a period, and one gorilla family dominated the area. This made it more difficult for decision-makers to decide which gorilla family to follow in this area.

After the Bushaho gorilla family was habituated and ready for tourists, the number of gorilla permits increased, and a decision could be made.

Silverback is the leader of the nine members of the Bushaho gorilla family. This family group of gorillas is located in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park’s Nkuringo area.

A few members of the Nkuringo family of gorillas vanished from the group in 2012. It was determined that they had joined the Bushaho gorilla family group after extensive search efforts.

Gorilla families in the Nkuringo area

Silverback, who transferred to the Bushaho gorilla group and quickly rose to prominence, was one of the members who departed the Nkuringo gorilla group. The trekkers’ monitoring team kept an eye on how the members of the parallel group behaved. Later on, this family developed the practice of being called Bushaho.

The Bushaho gorilla family spends much of its time foraging in Bushaho. Bushaho Eleven individuals make up the group: one blackback, one silverback, four adult females, two semi-adult females, and three babies.
