This is one of the most popular trips that gives you a chance to encounter chimpanzees and gorillas in their natural habitats in Uganda’s ideal destinations. The trip takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable National park in the far western part of Uganda for the ultimate gorilla experiences and Kibaale Forest National Park for chimpanzee trekking. The parks have a diversity of wildlife, including mammals, birds, and other primates like monkeys, which will make your trip memorable and worth your money. The trip will begin and end in Kampala/Entebbe.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National park with en route at the Equator.
Depending on your location, either in Entebbe or Kampala, you will be met by our experienced driver guide, who will enlighten you through a short briefing. Set off the engine to Bwindi Impenetrable national park with en route at the Equator for photography and Mbarara town for Lunch. Proceed through green plantations and scenic Kigezi hills and arrive at the park in the evening. Check-in at the booked lodge for dinner and rest.

Meal plan: Half board
Day 2: Gorilla trekking.
Following an early morning breakfast, meet the driver guide for a transfer to the park headquarters at Ruhija to join other trekkers for registration and briefing. After, proceed to the forest to search for the gorillas, taking you about 7 hours depending on their movement. On sighting them, you will be given 1 hour to study them watch their behaviors and obviously take pictures. Return to the lodge as on day 1 and relax as you await dinner and later a good night’s sleep.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National park.
After breakfast, check out of the park and meet the driver for another transfer to Kibale Forest National park, the home of chimpanzees and the world’s primate capital. The journey takes you through Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will fortunately see a variety of wildlife species. Proceed and drive through Kasese, join Fort portal Town, and have lunch. On arrival at the park, check in at the booked lodge for dinner and rest as you await for yet another highlight.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi nature walk
Have a morning breakfast and drive to the park headquarters, where you will be informed about the activity’s Dos and Don’ts. Later, you will be divided into small groups and given a gorilla family to trek. With the lead of the ranger guide, proceed to the jungle and embark on the search for the habituated chimps. Once found, you will be given 1 hour to stay with them before transferring back to the lodge for lunch. Following lunch, set out for a wetland walk in Bigodi, where you will fortunately see different bird species and other primates like monkeys. Before it gets dark, return to the lodge for dinner and retire for a night.

Day 5: Departure to Kampala.
After breakfast, prepare for a transfer back to Kampala / Entebbe International airport with a departure flight back home with scenic views of Fort portal town. End of the trip.
