Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Gisenyi Lake Kivu
Our well experienced tour guide, will pick you from the hotel or Kigali international airport for transfer to Gisenyi Lake Kivu. The journey takes 3-4 hours’ drive with en-route lunch. Upon arrival, you may head for an optional boat cruise in Lake Kivu and later connect to the lodge for relaxation. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2: Nyiragongo Hike
Wake up early cross to Congo through Goma border and drive to Kibati, you will be briefed before starting the hike. Set off with the hike, along with a game ranger and the hike takes 4-6 hours depending on your fitness. You will spend a night at the mountain with the beautiful view of the boiling lava as the experience is more effective during night hours. Dinner and overnight at the mountain tents.
Day 3: Descend the Nyiragongo volcano and transfer to Kigali
Have morning breakfast and after, you will descend back to the starting point where you will meet your driver waiting to transfer you back to Kigali, either to the hotel or Kigali international airport.
