8 Days Exclusive Uganda Safari

Overview

This 8 days Uganda safari takes you to the three major national parks, you will visit Bwindi impenetrable national park, a home to the famous endangered mountain gorillas located in south-western Uganda in the district of Kanungu. Bwindi impenetrable national park was established as national park in 1991 and it covers an area of 331 square kilometers. You will visit Queen Elizabeth national park refer as ‘’A medley of wonders’’ the most famous tourist’s destination in Uganda and a home to the famous tree climbing lions. Finally, the 8 days’ safari will take you to Kibale forest national park ‘’the primate capital of the world’’ one of the park with largest population of primates in Africa.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

Our company representative will pick you from Entebbe international airport. Meet and greet, exchange names and he will drive you to the hotel. If your flight arrives early, we will organize Kampala city tour, where you will visit some important places and later drive back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Our company guide shall pick you very early in the morning from the hotel for transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Drive to south western part of Uganda via Mbarara district. Stop at the Uganda equator crossing point to explore this significant geographical site and take photos. Proceed to Igongo cultural Centre for lunch where you will enjoy the delicious traditional foods and after continue with the journey to Bwindi. Drive through the fascinating scenery of Kabale with beautiful view of rolling hills, long horned Ankole cattle grazing along the road, ever green savannah vegetation, mountains and plains fields. On arrival to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Mountain Gorilla Trekking and Batwa visit

Rise up early and have heavy breakfast. Pack your trekking equipment’s, enough drinking water and packed sacks. Our company guide will then drive you to the park’s headquarters for briefings on the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking. After briefing, game warden will allocate you a group and each group has 8 members per a gorilla family. The gorilla family has 10-30 member headed by Silver Back   mountain gorilla. Drive to the starting point and well-armed game ranger will lead the group into the jungle. There is always first group of game rangers who will be following the movements of the gorilla and they communicate to the behind group where to find these endangered gorillas. Proceed with the search through the dense vegetation, slippery trails and tall forest tree to trek for these endangered Mountain Gorillas. Finally, when you meet the gorillas, you will spend one hour with them, observing, interacting and seeing young one’s breast feeding and playing with their mothers. Return to the headquarters meet your guide and you will be awarded a certificate. Drive back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch if time is on our side, you may visit the local communities as you experience the life style of the local people. You may visit local a traditional herbalist, black smith and a local brewery to see how beer is brewed using local methods. The Best part of a community visit is that you will enjoy the traditional dances offered by the community, traditional foods, traditional weddings and storytelling.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Have a morning cup of the coffee, organize to check-out of the lodge. Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park through the country side passing through traditional homesteads, local farms and ever green savannah vegetation. Pass via the southern part of the park through Ishasha sector as you look out for the famous tree climbing lions resting in the fig trees. You will have a chance of seeing the antelopes grazing in the Ishasha plains, Uganda kobs, water bucks, elephants and many more others. Have an en-route lunch and proceed to the upper part of the Queen Elizabeth national park with an en-route evening game drive in search of wildlife. Check-in at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

Wake up at 6:00 am, have breakfast and by 6.30 am set out for a morning game drive so as to catch up with the early raisers like the leopard, lion and spotted hyena to list the few. Queen Elizabeth national park features the diverse ecosystem of grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters. The park is home to a variety of wildlife and bird species. You will go for game drive at the Kasenyi trail where you will find the highest concentration of wildlife like buffalos, elephants, giraffes, warthogs, topis, kobs, waterbucks, bush bucks, bush duiker, bush-babies, monkeys and leopards among others.

Return for lunch and after lunch go for 2:00 pm boat cruise at the Kazinga Channel, you will view different kinds of wildlife like crocodiles, buffaloes, hippos and many others. Kazinga channel is home to a variety of bird species like the martial eagle, the Woodland kingfisher, the great blue turaco, the grey plantain eater among the 606 species recorded in the park. En-route game drive as your heading back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Drive to Kibale Forest National park

You will be served morning breakfast, after check-out of the lodge and be transfered to Kibale forest national park. Kibale forest national park is famously known for its highest population of primates in Africa. Drive via Kasese as you will see beautiful mountain of moon [Rwenzori Mountain], have lunch from tourist’s restaurant in Kasese as you will try our traditional foods or you can enjoy the English foods. Proceed with the journey and visit the crater lakes. Drive to the lodge, check-in, then have dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi nature walk

Report to the park’s headquarters after breakfast; carry enough drinking water and sacks. You will be briefed and you will enter the forest in search of our close relatives with whom we share DNA test of 98%. You will encounter other primates like olive baboons, bonobos, and red colobus, black and white colobus, red and blue monkeys, grey cheeked mangabey to list the few. There is high variety of bird species found in the forest and you will encounter them during the Bigodi nature walk. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 8: Departure

Check-out of the lodge and drive back to Kampala with en-route lunch break. Drop off at the hotel or

Entebbe international airport.
