3 Days Bwindi & Lake Bunyonyi Safari

The 3 days Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and the Lake Bunyonyi Safaris will take you through the interesting, memorable and breath taking moments as you traverse through the amazing jungle of Bwindi in south western Uganda, to trek the endangered mountain gorilla species in any of the 4 gorilla sectors. Then you can proceed to Lake Bunyonyi also known as the Switzerland of Africa because of its beautiful land scape, second deepest lake in Africa with fresh waters, bilharzia free, good for swimming, flourishing green terraced hills and 29 breath taking Islands scattered traversal in the central part of the water. This will give all the relaxation you could ever need.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi Forest

Our company guide, will pick from the hotel or Entebbe international airport, get to greet each other and know yourselves better and then set off for your adventurous safaris. In due course of the journey, we shall have a stopover at the Uganda Equator for a few minutes’ break, take snaps and proceed to Mbarara town have some lunch. After we continue driving through Ishaka, Igara tea plantations, get to enjoy the great views of Queen Elizabeth national park, connecting through Ishasha sector where you might have chance to see the tree climbing lions on the fig trees, proceed to Kihihi town then finally Buhoma region of Bwindi forest National Park.

Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & lake Bunyonyi Experience

Wake up early and have morning breakfast, set off to the Bwindi impenetrable national park Headquarters for a brief on the rules and regulations concerning gorilla trekking experience.

You will be divided into groups of 8 people per gorilla family and with the help of knowledgeable game ranger you traverse through the jungle in search of the giant mountain gorillas. You are advised to wear long sleeved blouses and shirts, trousers, caps, gumboots and pack some snacks and enough drinking water. It may take you one to 8 hours to locate the gorillas. After finding them you will be allowed only 2 hours with them that is, see them play, eat and the silver back guarding the family and no flash photos are allowed while with the gorillas.

After the gorilla experience you will go to the hotel, have some refreshments and our driver will drive you through the flourishing green terraced hills to Lake Bunyonyi where you will have ultimate relaxation with the view of the beautiful land scape of the lake, do community and nature walks around Lake Bunyonyi and motorized boat ride to Akampene Island also known as the punishment island.

Day 3: Departure back to Kampala

On the last day of the safaris, you wake up early morning, take some breakfast, and then do some hiking through ancient Echuya forest or canoeing on Lake Bunyonyi and then drive back to Kampala which makes the end of your adventurous safaris.
