3 Days Rwanda Gorilla Tracking Tour

Overview

This 3 days Gorilla safari takes you to the Northern Province of Volcanoes National park in Rwanda, which is characterized by a thick rainforest and 5 of the 8 Virunga volcanoes. These include Muhabura, Karisimbi, Sabinyo, Bisoke and Gahinga. Besides, the park is a hearthstone to mountain gorillas and other primates like golden monkeys all worth an adventure. You should therefore not miss this magnificent experience as you observe the gorillas in their natural habitats in the park. A visit to the Gorilla guardian’s village is a must-do.

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Volcanoes National Park.

Depending on your location either at the airport or in a hotel, our driver guide from Chosen Expeditions and Tours will welcome and pick you up for a transfer to Volcanoes national park with a precise briefing. Along the way, you will have a brief tour around Kigali City where you will explore craft markets, Kigali Genocide Memorial center among others depending. Have enroute lunch and embark on a 2- 3 hours journey to Volcanoes National park, a home to mountain gorillas. Check-in at the reserved lodge for dinner and a night’s rest.

Meal plan: half board.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking.

Following a morning breakfast, you will be picked up with packed lunch and transferred to the briefing and registration point where you will meet other trekkers. The ranger guides will caution you about the activity and later divide you into different groups and commence the search. The activity can even take you up to a full day depending on their movement. Return to the lodge for dinner and a good night’s rest.

Meal plan: full board.

Day 3:  Visit to guardian’s village and departure.

Following delicious breakfast from the lodge, check out and meet the driver for a transfer to the villages to have a taste of the Rwandese culture. You will visit the gorilla guardians known as the Iby’iwacu who contribute greatly to gorilla conservation in Rwanda. After the encounter, either embark on a journey heading back to the airport for a flight or back to a hotel in Kigali marking the end of the tour.
