1 Day Chimpanzee Trek Safari

Enjoy this 1-day chimpanzee trekking safari that takes you to Uganda’s renowned Kibaale Forest national park. Also called the Primate capital, the park is home to over 13 primate species where the chimps are included alongside others like monkeys and gorillas. Detailed Itinerary

Day to Day

Following your early morning breakfast from your hotel, meet up with our experienced driver guide and kick off the journey taking you to the Primate Capital, Kibaale Forest national park in Western Uganda. On arrival at the park in Fort portal, transfer to the park headquarters at Kayanchu Visitor center for briefing and registration. Later, you will be assigned a family to trek and a ranger guide to give you the lead.

At exactly 8:00 am, embark on the search for the habituated gentle giants that share 99% of the human DNA as you penetrate into the forest. Along the search, you will be fascinated by other creatures like forest birds, different tree species, and monkeys like Black and White Colombus monkeys as they will be furtherly explained to you by the ranger guide. Upon finding the great apes, you will be allocated 1 hour to be with them for a photography session and observe their behaviors.

After sating your hunger, meet the driver for a transfer to Bweteera Community for a cultural encounter with the locals. On arrival, you will be welcomed in a royal way with traditional dances and songs. Be sure to leave with names like Akiiki and Abwooli as you explore the local’s activities like craft making and preferably get a souvenir. Before night fall, meet the driver for another 3-4 hours’ drive back to Kampala. End of the trip.
