Brief history of OI Pejeta
This is a habitat where you will find the largest home of black rhinos in East Africa and, the only park in the Kenya where you can see kenya chimps in their natural setting. This reserve is an expression of Kenya’s wildlife efforts to bring back the populations of black Rhinos and delightful Chimpanzees.
Ol Pejeta reserve is home to Africa’s Big Five – lions, leopards, buffalos, elephants, and then the rhinos. It also offers tourists very special viewing opportunities to see and appreciate nature. Oi Pejeta also has a few species of lions found there, cheetahs and African wild cats.
What to expect from OI Pejeta
What you would not dare wish to miss is the fun filled, easy and adventurous tour to one of Kenya’s most interesting reserves. As you walk into the park, you will have a variety to watch and view which will include the pineapple plantation, the coffee and tea plantations and not only that but you will also view the snow-capped summit of mt Kenya which has the tallest peak in the country
The reserve is a brightly colored palette of natural habitats, riverine forest, bush country, grasslands, and even marsh, all supporting a wide array of wildlife. And you’ll get to experience it all over your 2-day safari.

Day 1: Transfer from Nairobi to OI Pejeta wildlife sanctuary
Our company guide will pick you from your hotel and transfer you to OI Pejeta wildlife sanctuary where you will start your journey to experience the wild and nature. You will take a few minutes to get to know each other, he will brief you about your trip then proceed with your journey.
As you cruise through Laikipia county, you will see farms, pineapple plantations, tea and coffee plantations as well and from here you will have time to enter in and see more and even go to the local markets
OI Pejeta is a celebrated wildlife sanctuary because of its enormously diverse wildlife which include the big five and the famously endangered Black Rhinos and then on the plain areas of the sanctuary you will find the kings of the jungle (the lions), the rare wild African dog, the leopards, the cheetahs, and the jackals.
Among other wildlife species to be spotted are the zebras, impalas, hartebeests, the hippos, the baboons, the warthogs and so many more that you will encounter.
On your journey you will not miss to view the famous Mt. Kenya as you drive and you will have another memorable experience at the equator where you will have a chance to be at both the south and northern hemisphere at the same time.
OI Pejeta is the only known natural home for rescued and orphaned chimpanzees in the whole of East Africa. It is in this sanctuary where chimps are nurtured back to good health while being supervision and after regaining their health back, they are set free to go in to the wilderness with tight supervision to avoid harm again.
Still about OI Pejeta, there is a possibility of you going for a night game drive if arranged for and at this time you will get a chance to view the night eaters when they are hunting or even eating their prey.
Or you can also opt to go for the Masai village visit to learn about the Masai culture then after you will go back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay

Day 2; Game Drive and Transfer back
Wake up early morning to the whispers of the wild from the birds, monkeys, chimps and maybe roars of the lions among others. Have your morning breakfast and head out to the bushes to see the rest of the animals for another memory. You will encounter several animals like the leopards, the giraffes, the elephants among others.
After the game drive you can opt for early lunch before you head out for your journey back home but with more views as you go out of the park.
