Overview

The 3 day’s gorilla tracking Safaris will take you to the volcanoes National Park which is the home of the famous mountain gorillas and the golden monkeys. The 3 days tour is inclusive of Kigali city tour where you will visit various historical sites such as the king’s palaces, local markets, the genocide sites, convention centers and many more. The 3 day’s tour starts in Rwanda and ends there.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Our experienced tour guide will pick you from Kigali International airport or from the hotel. You will exchange words of greetings and get comfortable with each other and set off. The journey starts off with Kigali city tour where you will visit the Rwanda genocide site, convention centres, Kings Palace and Rwandan local markets. After city tour, go for lunch in any of the Tourist Hotels or Restaurants.

After lunch embark on 2 hours’ drive to Volcanoes National Park, you will pass by the rolling hills, green thick ever green vegetation and here you can see the local people doing their daily work. Upon arrival at the park, drive to place of accommodation, check-in, relax and later on, you will have dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking & Community Walk

Rise up very early in the morning, take breakfast and after breakfast, pick your trekking equipment’s, enough drinking water and packed lunch then set off with the safaris guide/driver to the park headquarters for briefing on rules and regulations of gorilla trekking by game rangers before commencing for trek. At 8:30 am, you will drive to the starting point and the game ranger will lead the group into the jungle in search our closed relatives the mountain gorillas. You go into the jungle with a well-armed game rangers for security purposes and finding the endangered mountain gorilla species depends on where they slept previous night and it may take half an hour to six [6] hours to find the mountain gorilla family assigned to you because they are mobile.

After meeting the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend only 1 hour with them, you will have a chance to see them eating/searching food, breastfeeding the young ones, playing, and the silverback guarding the family. After all these you drive back to the parks headquarters to receive your trekking certificate.

Head back to the lodge and have some refreshment and after you will visit Ibyawacu cultural village for some historical experience. You will enjoy cultural dances, traditional wedding, cultural songs and storytelling by the local people.

Day 3: Departure

Waking up with the medleys of African sounds, you will have breakfast and check-out of the lodge. Drive back to Kigali city or to Kigali international airport to catch up with your flight back home.
