Overview

This exceptional safari gives you a chance encounter the gorillas and chimpanzees in their natural habitats of Volcanoes national park and Nyungwe Forest national park. The trip will commence and end in Kigali- Rwanda.

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1:  Pick up and city tour.

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, meet up with our driver and transfer for Kigali City tour. You will visit Kigali Genocide Centre, National museum alongside scenic views. Proceed to the booked lodge for dinner and slumber.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest national park.

Following a morning breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet the driver for a set off to Southern part of Rwanda to Nyungwe Forest National park. This will take you about 5-6 hours with scenic views of the rolling hills of Rwanda and enroute lunch. On arrival, check in at the reserved lodge from which you will have dinner and slumber.

Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe Forest and canopy walk.

Enjoy early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters for chimpanzee trekking adventures. You will first be briefed about the dos and don’ts, and later hike into the forest to search for the chimps with views of other animals like monkeys and different bird species. Retire for lunch and have an optional canopy walk through the forest with rewarding views. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Volcanoes National park.

Have breakfast and transfer to Volcanoes national park in Ruhengeri by either road in our safari vehicle or water using Lake Kivu buy a boat cruise which calls for extra costs. On arrival, check in at the booked lodge for dinner and retire for a night.

Day 5: Mountain Gorilla Trekking.

Breakfast and transfer to Kinigi, the parks headquarters for briefing and registration. Proceed to the start ing point and commence the search taking you about 2-7 hours depending on the movement of the gentle giants. On finding them, you will have 1 hour to sight them and take pictures. Return to the lodge, relax have dinner and retire for a night.

Day 6: Golden monkey trek and departure.

Have morning breakfast and embark on golden monkey trekking as you hike into the parks lush vegetation with sightings of other primates and birds.
