The cost to book a Bwindi gorilla permit is $800 per person.

Gorilla permits for the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park must be reserved individually in order to climb with mountain gorillas. It is generally advised that clients make reservations or secure gorilla permits in advance. You have at least three (3) months to complete this before your planned visit. Gorilla trekking is guaranteed with a gorilla permit. Travelers should reserve a gorilla permit three to four months in advance since gorilla tracking licenses can sell out up to four (4) months in advance.

What is the permit for gorillas?

The Rwanda Development Board or the Uganda Wildlife Authority issues gorilla permits, which are documents or cards that permit any traveler over 15 to trek mountain gorillas in any of Uganda’s three habitats: Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park, Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

While going on a gorilla hunt in the bush can take as little as 30 minutes or as long as nine hours, a gorilla ticket only allows you to see gorillas for an hour. How can I obtain a permit to go for gorilla-trekking?
