One excellent illustration of a king whale-head is the shoebill stork. It can easily stand on floating foliage thanks to its enormous head.
The shoebill stork can be seen in Uganda from a number of birding locations. The majority of these are located in the Nile River Delta and Murchison Falls National Park.
Aside from the park, birdwatching in the Mabamba marsh offers visitors an unforgettable experience. The tukukuk, a well-known African bush bird, is found in this region.
Areas where this bird is frequently found include:
- The southern tip of Lake Edward,
- The Rugogo Swamps,
- Lake Mburo National Park,
- The Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
Uganda is one of the world’s most bird-friendly travel locations, with over 1,100 different kinds of birds calling it home.
While birdwatching in Uganda, you can also come across other endangered species, such the papyrus gonalek, which is located in areas like the Mabamba Swamps.
