THE PEARL OF AFRICA, UGANDA

One of the most diverse nations on the African continent is Uganda. This region is perfect for a genuine travel experience because of its amazing diversity of landscape, culture, and wildlife. From the wildlife-rich savannah plains to the mountains covered in glaciers, from chasing chimpanzees in the rainforest to racing down the Nile’s rapids, no two days in Uganda are the same.

In Uganda’s national parks, savannah plains are home to lions, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, leopards, hyenas, hippos, zebras, and the unusual Ugandan kob, among many other creatures. Uganda’s forests are home to 24 different kinds of monkeys, including endangered mountain gorillas, golden monkeys, and nocturnal galagos. Uganda is home to a wide variety of creatures, but it’s also home to over 1000 different bird species, like the Great Blue Turaco and the Shoebill, which resemble dinosaurs.

Uganda’s distinct culture, which encompasses a wide variety of languages and dialects, cuisine, clothes, ceremonies, and beliefs, is reflected in more than 45 tribes. Specialized and well-thought-out events encourage genuine interaction with communities and offer amazing immersion experiences. For more daring tourists, there’s mountain biking, trekking up volcanoes, and kayaking or rafting!

Visit Bwindi Forest to learn about the endangered mountain gorillas.

With an estimated 120 animal species, 10 of which are primates, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is said to have one of the most diversified faunal groups in all of East Africa. It also boasts around 200 kinds of butterflies and about 350 species of birds. The critically endangered mountain gorillas of Bwindi can be tracked and habituated to provide exciting experiences up close.

Genuine insights into an old civilization can be found in Karamoja.

Through carefully planned interactions, the Karamoja region is a hidden gem in Uganda, offering true insight into the ancient culture of the Karamojong people. The place is perfect for the ultimate explorer because it provides stunning scenery for motorcyclists, hikers, and environment lovers.

Murchison Falls has beautiful waterfalls and a variety of wildlife.

Uganda’s largest conservation area is Murchison Falls National Park. The Victoria Nile, which flows through the park and creates the strongest waterfall in the world by crashing through a series of rapids, is its most famous feature. The falls rank the park among Uganda’s most popular attractions, combined with thrilling wildlife drive trails.

Where to stay: Look for the greatest lodging options in breathtaking settings.

Because all of In Africa Safaris’ offices are in Uganda, we are able to carefully select the best hotel options the country has to offer.

We place a high value on offering excellent service to guarantee a comfortable stay, regardless of the cost of the accommodations. Whenever possible, we aim to collaborate with small-scale lodges in prime locations and intimate settings to provide the best possible Africa experience.

Best time to visit and attractiveness all year round.

Uganda is a great place to travel to any time of year. March through May and September through November are considered the low seasons, whereas June through August and December through February are considered the high seasons. The low seasons are generally when there aren’t as many travelers, which makes them fascinating times to explore.

If you want to save money, the off-season is a great time to take advantage of the discounts that some lodges provide. Although high seasons are popular times to visit, there are rarely big crowds because Uganda is still a relatively obscure destination.

Regarding climate, it is believed that Uganda has more drought during the high season and more rain during the low season. However, because we have dry periods during the “rainy season” and rainfall during the “dry season,” we have come to realize that the seasons are no longer reliable. Regardless of the season, Uganda has abundant sunshine all year. Be ready for cold weather when traveling to higher altitudes, such as Bwindi Forest, especially at night.

Availability of permits.

It’s important to remember that throughout July and August, gorilla tracking licenses sell out quickly. Obtaining your permissions at least six months in advance is something we advise.
