The Uganda Visa Application Requirements are listed here to help you plan your safaris. One of Africa’s most stunning nations, Uganda is home to some of the friendliest people you will meet, half of the world’s remaining mountain gorilla population, and breathtaking natural scenery.

Most holders of non-African passports who want to enter Uganda must get a visa. Previously, visas had to be obtained at the border upon admission; however, on July 1, 2016, the Ugandan government introduced an online mechanism for applying for visas. All travelers to Uganda, whether for leisure, business, education, research, visitation, or medical care, are required to apply for and obtain a visa online. The application portal for visas is https://visas.immigration.go.ug.

A six-month Multiple-Entry Visa that can be used for 90 days in Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda, a Diplomatic and Official Visa, a three-month Ordinary Visa, an East Africa Tourist Visa, and a Transit Visa are among the visas that can be obtained online.

The applicant’s email address receives an electronic notification of the application’s decision. An approval letter is appended to the provided email address in case it is accepted. Simply print it off, bring it to the port of entry together with a valid passport or other travel document, and the potential tourist is set to go.

Travelers wishing to extend their visa must visit the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Immigration office or complete the online forms. Furthermore, since there are usually no lineups at the various embassies, Kampala is a great place to get a visa for another country.
