PARK RULES AND REGULATIONS
These are some of the rules and regulations one must consider when or before visiting the park, before going for gorilla or chimp trekking.
PARK RULES AND REGULATIONS
- Do not disturb wildlife by sounding motor horns
- Do not camp or make campfires except at designated sites
- Do not drive off the tracks
- Do not drive in the park between 7:00pm and 7:00am
- Retain all official receipts for inspection
- Do not litter
- Do not exceed the speed limit of 40km per hour [25mph]
- Do not pick flowers or destroy any vegetation
- Do not bring dogs or other pets into the park
- Do not bring firearms or ammunition into the park
GORILLA TREKKING RULES AND REGULATIONS
- Do not use flash photography
- Maintain the 7 meter distance from the gorillas
- Do not visit gorillas if you have flu or any other infectious illness
- Only eight visitors are allowed per gorilla family
- Minimum age for trekking is 15 years
- Cover your mouth before sneezing or coughing
- Human waste should be buried 30cm deep
- Smoking , eating and drinking are not permitted on the tour
CHIMPANZEE TRACKING RULES AND REGULATION
- Do not liter in the forest
- Do not use flash photography
- Do not chase the chimpanzee
- Do not urinate or defecate in the forest, if you happen to do so bury your waste in hole 30cm deep
- Minimum age for tracking is 12 years
- Do not eat near the chimpanzee
- Maintain silence when in the park
- Keep distance of least 8 meters from the chimpanzees
- Anyone with flu and cough is not allowed to track chimpanzees
- Do not mimic chimpanzees vocalization
