Environment Museum of Rwanda
The Karongi Museum of Environment opens its doors in June 2014. As of right now, it’s the only environmental museum in Africa. A Rwandan herbal garden is housed on the upper level of the double-stall building of the museum of environment.
The museum is located in the Western Province of Karongi, Rwanda. The museum aids in visitor education and helps them comprehend the value of preserving and maintaining the environment. The goal is to save the hills and mountains, forests, marshes, and other natural areas.
The structure has two stories and a rooftop garden featuring 127 different types of trees for traditional herbal medicine. The museum helps the community’s citizens find work while simultaneously preserving the environment.
Foreign cash is generated in the district by the museum’s ability to draw tourists. The museum’s earnings are utilized to raise local standards of living and support the surrounding communities.
Along with other historical, cultural, and genocide memorial museums, mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park, chimpanzees in Nyungwe Forest, and other animals in Akegera National Park, this is a fantastic addition to Rwanda’s tourism attractions
