Groundwater that has been heated by geothermal forces rises to the earth’s surface and produces hot springs. The water’s temperature is significantly higher than the air temperature in the area, raising the possibility of danger. The majority of hotsprings worldwide are recognized for their ability to release hot groundwater through small penetrations. One such instance is Sempaya Hot Spring.

The hot springs, located in Semuliki National Park, are classified as Male and Female by the locals and can reach temperatures of up to 103°C (217.4°F). Those who are daring enough to visit these hotsprings often lay raw eggs on the springs, allow them to boil, and then consume them! This accurately captures the temperature of these springs.

In western Uganda, there is a protected area called Semuliki National Park. The park is 219 square kilometers in size.

Usage by Humans

For hygienic reasons, residents of the Semuliki area occasionally take a bath in the cooler water. Others have connected the bath to conventional goals. Healing skin conditions, promoting fertility in women who are not yet pregnant, facilitating the delivery process for expectant mothers, and relaxation are a few.

The Bamanga people have historically revered spring, believing that the gods are feminine and celebrating to please them.

How to travel there
