Overview
8-Day Uganda Gorilla-Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari takes you to the three major national parks, you will visit Bwindi impenetrable national park, a home to the famous endangered mountain gorillas located in south-western Uganda in the district of Kanungu. Bwindi impenetrable national park was established as national park in 1991 and it covers an area of 331 square kilometers.
You will visit Queen Elizabeth national park refer as ‘’A medley of wonders’’ the most famous tourist’s destination in Uganda and a home to the famous tree climbing lions. Finally, the 8-Day Uganda Gorilla-Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari will take you to Kibale forest national park ‘’the primate capital of the world’’ one of the park with largest population of primates in Africa.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a Chosen Expeditions representative. After a short briefing about your 8-Day Uganda Gorilla-Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari ,you will be transferred to your hotel in Entebbe to relax after your flight. Depending on arrival time, you may enjoy views of Lake Victoria or take a short walk around the hotel area. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast, begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The drive takes you through Uganda’s scenic countryside, rolling hills, and local villages.
You may stop at the Equator for photographs and continue through Mbarara for lunch. As you approach Bwindi, the landscape becomes mountainous and lush with dense rainforest. Arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon and relax as you prepare for gorilla trekking the next day.

Day 3: Mountain Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Visit in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers before entering the forest for mountain gorilla trekking. Accompanied by experienced guides and trackers, you will hike through the rainforest in search of a habituated gorilla family.
The trek can take several hours depending on the gorillas’ movements. Once located, you will spend one hour observing them in their natural habitat. Watching a silverback lead his group and seeing young gorillas play nearby is an unforgettable wildlife encounter.
In the afternoon, enjoy a Batwa cultural visit. The Batwa people are the original forest dwellers of Bwindi. You will learn about their traditional hunting methods, medicinal plants, music, and dance, gaining insight into their unique cultural heritage.
Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, depart Bwindi and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The route offers scenic views of crater lakes and savannah plains. If traveling through the Ishasha sector, you may have the chance to spot the famous tree-climbing lions resting in fig trees.
Arrive at your lodge in the afternoon and relax while enjoying views of the surrounding wilderness.

Day 5: Morning Game Drive & Boat Cruise on the Kazinga Channel
Start the day with an early morning game drive across the Kasenyi plains. Wildlife sightings may include elephants, buffalo, Uganda kobs, lions, and hyenas. The park is known for its rich biodiversity and scenic landscapes.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. The cruise offers close-up views of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, and numerous bird species along the shoreline. This is one of the highlights of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Drive to Kibale National Park
After breakfast, depart Queen Elizabeth National Park and drive north to Kibale National Park. The journey passes through scenic countryside and crater lake regions near Fort Portal.
Arrive at your lodge near Kibale Forest in the afternoon. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and preparing for chimpanzee tracking.

Day 7: Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary
After breakfast, report to the park headquarters for a briefing before entering Kibale Forest for chimpanzee tracking. Kibale is known as the primate capital of the world and hosts a high density of chimpanzees and other primates.
Once the chimpanzees are located, you will spend one hour observing them as they feed, groom, and move through the forest canopy.
In the afternoon, enjoy a guided walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-managed reserve rich in birdlife and monkeys. The walk provides insight into local conservation initiatives and community tourism efforts.
Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, begin your return journey to Kampala or Entebbe. Lunch will be enjoyed en route before drop-off at Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight, marking the end of your 8-Day Uganda Gorilla-Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari with Chosen Expeditions.
