The 3-Day Murchison Falls Safari takes you to Murchison falls which is located in the North-western Uganda and it’s one of the oldest and largest national parks in Uganda. The great Murchison falls, falls from 45m wall through the 8m wide gorge.

The view of the fall is very scenic and you will listen to the thunderous roar of the water falls flowing to the Victoria Nile. Day 1: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park & Visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Your 3-Day Murchison Falls Safari in Uganda with Chosen Expeditions begins with an early morning pick-up from Entebbe International Airport or your hotel in Kampala. After a detailed safari briefing, you will embark on a scenic drive northwest toward Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and most spectacular protected area.

The journey offers an authentic glimpse into Uganda’s countryside — passing vibrant roadside markets, traditional homesteads, and expansive farmlands. Your first major stop is Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where wild rhinos roam freely. Here, you will participate in a guided rhino tracking experience on foot, escorted by professional rangers.

Walking through the savannah to observe white rhinos at close range is both thrilling and educational. You will learn about Uganda’s rhino reintroduction program, conservation efforts, and the importance of restoring the Big Five within Murchison Falls National Park.

After lunch at the sanctuary, continue your drive to Murchison Falls National Park. As you approach the park, the scenery transforms into wide savannah plains dotted with Borassus palm trees and distant wildlife. Day 2: Game Drive, Boat Cruise & Hike to the Top of Murchison Falls

Begin with an early morning game drive on the northern bank of Murchison Falls National Park, where wildlife concentrations are highest. The cool morning hours provide optimal opportunities to encounter elephants moving in family herds, Rothschild’s giraffes browsing acacia trees, buffalo grazing in large numbers, and antelopes such as Uganda kobs and hartebeests scattered across the plains.

Lions are often spotted resting after a night hunt, and with luck, you may catch sight of a leopard quietly retreating into the thickets. Your experienced Chosen Expeditions guide will provide detailed insights into animal behavior, habitats, and conservation within the park.

Return to the lodge for breakfast and short relaxation before your afternoon adventure.

Later, embark on a boat cruise along the Victoria Nile toward the base of Murchison Falls. This river safari offers exceptional wildlife viewing as hippos gather in pods, Nile crocodiles bask along the banks, and elephants come down to drink. The Nile is also a paradise for bird enthusiasts, with sightings of African fish eagles, kingfishers, bee-eaters, and herons.

As the boat approaches the base of Murchison Falls, you will witness the dramatic sight of the Nile River forcing itself through a narrow 7-meter gorge before plunging 43 meters below. The thunderous roar and mist rising into the sky create one of the most powerful natural spectacles in Africa.

After disembarking, enjoy a guided hike to the top of the falls.
