Overview
Lake Mburo National Park is referred to as Whispers of the Wild, and it’s located on the Kampala-Mbarara highway. This park is the smallest in Uganda compared to the 9 other parks. Lake Mburo is blessed with a number of mammals, bird species, and plant species.
Some of the wildlife found in this park include elands, leopards, hyenas, topis, hippos, waterbuck, oribi, buffaloes, impala, zebras, kobs, warthogs, and reedbuck, among others. Some of the bird species in the park include hammerkops, magnificent fish eagles, and kingfishers, to list a few.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and Evening Boat Cruise
Pick up from your location and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park for an amazing 2-day Lake Mburo National Park safari. The journey takes 3-4 hours’ drive depending on stopovers. You will have a stopover at Mpambire, the drum makers’ village, and at the Uganda Equator, where an experiment will be conducted to prove the difference between the Northern and Southern hemispheres using the funnel and water. You will have refreshments during the stopover and take some photos at the Equator.
Proceed with the safari to Lake Mburo; upon arrival at the park, register with the park’s office and then drive to the lodge where you will have lunch. After lunch, head for an evening boat cruise, and you will see crocodiles, schools of hippos, waterbuck, kobs, and topis, among others. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Departure
Rise early so as to catch up with early risers before they return to their hideouts. Expect to see plenty of wildlife like zebras, which are the most common in this park; warthogs; impalas; buffaloes; elands; waterbucks; oribis; topis; antelope; monkeys; olive baboons; spotted hyenas; leopards (but rarely); white-tailed mongooses; and hippos, among others.
Return to the lodge and have a late breakfast and lunch. You will check out of the lodge and drive back to Kampala. Drop off at the hotel or Entebbe International Airport marking an end of the 2 days Lake Mburo National Park safari
